LONGHORN VILLAGE TOWNHOMES

Phase I of  Longhorn Village project is nearing completion!

We are pleased to introduce the families who will soon be moving into their new homes:

KELLY ATKIN ... Kelly was born and raised in Phoenix and graduated with national honors from Greenway High School.  She has ridden horse for many years, and won several awards in English riding until 1998, when an accident prevented her from continuing.  Atkin has two brothers living out-of-state and a large extended family in Phoenix.  Kelly and her parents moved to Payson about 9 years ago.  Kelly has worked as a receptionist & housekeeper in various businesses and is currently employed in sales at Longevity Plus.  When not working, she is a busy single mom to Sage, age 3.  Kelly loves to cook, bake and also enjoys spending time outdoors.  She enjoys searching for bargains at garage sales & on Ebay.  She believes that getting her Habitat home is a miracle and a blessing for her and Sage.

Michael & Jaqueline Pasamonte ... It had been a dream of Jacki's to live in Payson.  Seven years ago their dream came true and they moved to Payson with their 9-month old son.  Mike had been a city boy, but when he saw Payson he knew this was where he wanted to settle down.  Mike was previously a tool and die maker.  Since coming to Payson he has worked primarily in maintenance and is currently employed by the Payson School District.  Jackie previously worked as a childcare worker and a waitress.  After the birth of their second child Jackie became a full-time homemaker, taking care of Michael (now age 7) and Kaitlyn (now age 5) was a full-time job.  They felt like they won the lottery when they were selected for a Habitat home, and have met many wonderful people through Habitat.  They can hardly wait to move into their new home.

Joanna Caroll ... Joanna was raised in Tonto Basin and graduated from Payson High School.  She now has four children, Austin/13, twins Joelle & Erin/11 and Nicki/9 -- all attend Payson schools.  Joanna has worked with the forest service as a fire fighter, a safety director for a major corporation, an EMT and paramedic, and is an illustrator and muralist.  She currently paints murals for private individuals and organizations in town.  She and her children are active in the LDS church, and the children are active in Big Brothers-Big Sisters, town sponsored sports, and music.  Joanna is a Scout Leader, and her son is in Boy Scouts.  Recently, Joanna was awarded a full scholarship from the University of Phoenix and is busy working on her degree in elementary education.  Joanna describes their new Habitat home as a stepping stone that will help pave the way toward a bright new future.

Joyce Nuckles ... Joyce moved to Payson 10 years ago with her two daughters, Brittany & Brook and was pregnant with her youngest daughter, Brinyl.  She heard about Habitat when she first moved here, but the Lord decided she wasn't ready for a Habitat home just then.  Joyce has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and caretaker for the elderly and is currently working at WalMart, where she has been employed for the past 3 years.  Her two older daughters attend Payson High and are involved in music, weight lifting, softball and enjoy a variety of creative hobbies such as crocheting, sewing and woodworking.  Joyce keeps busy as a single mom and feels very blessed to be picked for a Habitat home -- she thanks the Lord and all the people who have helped her along the way.
