It is the Mission of Rim Guidance Center Division of Southwest Behavioral Health to provide clear and effective leadership in the provision of excellent behavioral health services to individuals and families in Payson and Northern Gila County, Arizona by partnering with schools, churches, courts, probation and any other entity committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy community.
Southwest Behavioral Health Services of Phoenix purchased Rim Guidance Center in July, 2000. In the fall of 2000, SBH/RGC worked with local agencies and the Payson Unified School District in developing and providing a comprehensive needs assessment of the Payson area. From that needs assessment, SBH/RGC began developing and implementing programs and services to meet the needs of the community. SBH/RGC has grown from a staff of 15 in 2000, to a total staff of approximately 70 individuals including a Board Certified Psychiatrist and 2 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners who live and work in Northern Gila County. SBH/RGC has developed strong partnerships with the local schools, Payson Regional Medical Center, Payson Police Department, Gila County Sheriff's Department, Payson Municipal/Gila County Justice Court, Northern Gila County Superior Court, Time Out Domestic Violence Shelter, AZ Dept. of Economic Security and other entities in the community. Funding is largely provided through the Cenpatico Behavioral Health and the AZ Department of Health Services. However, other funding comes from grants, contracted services with private insurance, governmental agencies and public donations.
The following services are provided to the Northern Gila County area from AHCCCS funding via Cenpatico Behavioral Health, Private Insurance, Gila County Superior Court, DES/ACYF, and private pay based on a sliding fee scale.
