To assist individuals in the Payson area, including the surrounding rural population, in achieving and maintaining self-sufficiency with dignity and to offer choices of appropriate care by providing a wide range of community and home based services.
Payson Senior Center was organized on May 10, 1985, as a section 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation to coordinate the activities which relate to social and economic conditions of older citizens in the town of Payson, Arizona and adjacent rural areas. Funding received from Area Agency on Aging, City of Payson, Senior Center Thrift Store, various grants and donations.
Daily lunches at the Senior Center, delivery of homebound meals, van transportation for appointments, shopping, etc.
We also provide a variety of on-going activities, a thrift store that is a bargain shoppers paradise, various legal services, and numerous seminars that cover a variety of subjects & concerns geared toward assisting & informing seniors.
Fun & Easy Aerobics classes, basic computer training, Bible study, various card games, pool games, wood carving, etc. We also sponsor many informative and useful seminars.

1. Help Deliver Hot Meals to the Homebound: Morning delivery person of hot meals to the homebound. Cheerful, caring person needed 1-5 days a week Mon.-Fri. mornings to deliver meals to the homebound. Choose your day(s). A driver is assigned. You may be the only person the recipient sees all day. A nice smile helps!
We are also in need of a back-up driver for this same volunteer position. Drivers must have a good driving record - DMV print-out is required.
2. General Activities Instructors Needed: The Senior Center is looking for individuals to lead and oversee a variety of activities to keep our seniors involved, motivated, informed & healthy. Give us a call and let us know your area of expertise. We are always open to "new ideas"! Cheerful, patient and understanding of senior limitations.
3. Teach and/or Share Your Creative Talents: Instructors Needed To Teach/Share Their 'Creative Talents'. If you are creative, energetic, and love 'crafting'--come share your talents with our seniors. Assist them in creating/learning a variety of arts & crafts. Interests vary Interests vary, and they are eager to learn new things. From scrape booking to painting to just about anything--it's all about "creating" and having fun.
Cheerful, fun-loving and patient, with a willingness to teach. Days and Hours are flexible.
