IS YOUR HOUSE EASY TO FIND?

WE CAN'T HELP YOU IF WE CAN'T FIND YOU.

One of the most frustrating situations for emergency responders is not being able to find someone who needs help when we are called.  Despite valiant efforts of personnel, good maps and a familiarity with the area, we do not have some magical ability to know which house is yours unless it is addressed and marked properly.

So, can emergency personal find your home when every second counts?

Take the challenge! Drive by your home at night to see if your house numbers are visible from the road.  See if it is clear where your home is and that the address number is visible and legible.

Keep in mind, emergency vehicles will be moving quickly to find your home.

How would you feel if you called for help late at night and it never arrived?  How about finding out emergency responders had trouble finding your home and told you it took many extra minutes because your address was not visible in an area where it can be seen from the street?

How about those address signs clumped on trees which are for multiple addresses on a long drives?  Is it clear which address is for which house?  If not, change it.

Emergency personnel can receive the best training and have the best equipment in the world but it may not make any difference if they cannot find you. The weak link in the 911 system may be the fact that homeowners do not have their addresses posted where they can be found quickly in an emergency both day and night.

Remember, we can’t help you if we can’t find you.  If you need help with posting your address or just want it checked, give us a call. Better now than when an emergency is at hand.
